The Virginia FBLA-PBL Foundation is combining awesome business mentors with interactive leadership development and ambassador training at the third annual Foundation Leadership Institute … or FLI! Space is limited and applications (due March 1) are available online. To apply, click HERE.

Through this fun, high-energy program, members will experience the best that FBLA has to offer and will unleash their inner leadership skills. As FLI participants, students in grades 9-11 will experience one-on-one and small group leadership training with business and industry professionals. These individuals have the opportunity to become lifelong mentors to help you navigate through your FBLA and business careers.

Foundation Leadership Institute The Virginia FBLA-PBL Foundation encourages you to be your best! They have assembled a dynamic line up of content, mentors, and presenters for the Institute. Topics include:
   • Leadership, Communication, and Networking Development
   • Creating Your "Elevator" Speech
   • Social Media and Your Online Resume
   • Business Etiquette & Attire
   • Public Speaking and Presenting to Small & Large Groups
   • FBLA Chapter Management, Parliamentary Procedure, and
      Business Achievement Awards Program
   • Virtual Enterprise
   • Community Service
   • Serving as a Foundation Ambassador

Up to three members from each region will be selected to attend the Foundation Leadership Institute at the State Leadership Conference in Reston, Virginia. There is no fee to participate in the Institute, and by participating, you will receive a stipend to cover your State Leadership Conference registration.

Applications will be due no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 1, so apply today!

What you need to know for before you apply for FLI:
  • Adviser and student should complete application together.
  • Once you start form, there is no way to save and return. Be prepared to answer:
    • Involvement
    • Major plan of study
    • Athletic and co/extra-curricular activities
    • Student essay in less than 100 words on how you/your chapter hope to benefit by participation in FLI
    • Adviser essay in less than 100 words on how your student/chapter hopes to benefit by participation
